West Virginia-Maryland game time set

Maryland will face West Virginia at 12 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 22 in Morgantown, West Virginia, the ACC has announced.

(David Swanson - AP) The afternoon start, broadcast on FX, will wrap up the Terps’s non-conference schedule before an off week and the family weekend matchup at Byrd Stadium against Wake Forest on Oct. 6.

Maryland, 2-0 after a 36-27 win at Temple, is 21-25-2 all-time against the Mountaineers, who are currently ranked ninth in the latest Associated Press top 25 poll.

The two teams last met on Sept. 17 last season, a 37-31 loss to West Virginia, then ranked No. 18. The Terps came back from 24 points and had a chance to take the lead in the game’s waning minutes, but Danny O’Brien threw an interception from the Mountaineers 35-yard line with 1:13 left.

West Virginia has won six straight meetings in the series.
