Safety Matt Robinson (groin) out vs. Wake Forest

October 6, 2012

Maryland Safety Matt Robinson (groin) is out for Saturday’s ACC opener against Wake Forest at Byrd Stadium. True freshman Sean Davis will start in his place.

Robinson was listed as questionable in Thursday’s injury report, but was not on the field for pregame warmups. Davis started in Robinson’s stead earlier this season while the sophomore healed from a shoulder injury.

Running back Justus Pickett was announced as the starter, though Albert Reid, Brandon Ross and Wes Brown are all expected to receive time in the backfield.

Alex Twine will start at outside linebacker, ahead of Kenneth Tate, who made his season debut two weeks ago against West Virginia. Tate took second-team reps during warmups but should receive plenty of action, like he did against the Mountaineers.
