The No. 1 Terrapins scored a 1-0 win over Virginia on Friday night and a 2-1 win over Rutgers on Tuesday to remain unbeaten. Patrick Mullins’s first-half goal was all Maryland needed against the Cavaliers, and Mullins (pictured above) also provided the game-winner in the first half against the Scarlet Knights.

The Terrapins (10-0-1) travel to Duke for a Comcast SportsNet-televised game on Friday night at 7 before returning home to face Colgate on Tuesday night at 7:30.

Women’s soccer

Maryland has risen to No. 6 in the Soccer America poll and to the top of the ACC standings. The Terrapins defeated North Carolina State, 3-0, on Sunday. Freshman Ashley Spivey scored twice and junior Hayley Brock scored once for the Terrapins, who improved to 10-3-2 and 5-1-1 in ACC play.

The Terrapins travel to Boston College on Thursday night at 7.

Field hockey

Jill Witmer and Ali McEvoy scored as the Terrapins shut out Duke, 2-0, on Saturday. Sixth-ranked Maryland will look for revenge on Friday evening at 5 at No. 8 Old Dominion, which scored a 2-1 win over the Terrapins on Aug. 31. Maryland then hosts UC-Davis on Sunday at 1.

Senior Josh Asper was selected for the NWCA All-Star Classic for a program-record third time. Asper will face Illinois’ Jordan Blanton in the 174-pound match on Nov. 3 at 7:30 p.m. at American University’s Bender Arena.

Men’s golf

Sean Bosdosh shot a 4-under 212 to win the Firestone Classic in Akron, Ohio, a week after winning the first individual title by a Maryland golfer since October 2010 at the VCU Shootout. He was named Terp of the Week by the Terrapins athletic department.
