Maryland set a campus record for student-athlete Graduation Success Rate in the third straight year, reaching 83 percent for 2011, and increasing its overall rate for the fourth straight year. Maryland’s GSR is 3 percentage points higher than the national average.
The data, based on student-athletes who entered Maryland from the 2002-03 school year to the 2005-06 school year, showed 19 teams with a GSR at or above 80 percent. Here’s a team-by-team snapshot, per Terps PR:
Field hockey: 100 percent
Women’s lacrosse: 96 percent
Women’s soccer: 94 percent
Women’s basketball: 93 percent
Men’s golf: 90 percent (highest among men’s teams)
Football: 65 percent (up from 59)
Men’s basketball: 50 percent (up from 46)
