CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. — Maryland closed out its regular season with a 61-58 overtime loss at Virginia after blowing an early 17-point lead, another disappointing road letdown for these Terrapins, who head into the ACC tournament as the conference’s seventh seed. Dez Wells’s last-ditch three-pointer, which would have sent the game into a second bonus period, rimmed out at the buzzer.
But the sophomore transfer still made waves during overtime with this monstrous coast-to-coast dunk after blocking Joe Harris at the rim on the other end. He finished with 12 points and 12 rebounds on 5-of-18 shooting (0 for 4 on three-pointers).
