Maryland-Connecticut to tip-off at 6:30 p.m. on Nov. 8, broadcast on ESPN2

The headline pretty much says it all. The Maryland men’s basketball team’s season opener against Connecticut at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center on Nov. 8 will tip off at 6:30 p.m. ESPN2 will handle the broadcast.

Maryland hasn’t formally announced the rest of its 2013-14 nonconference schedule yet, but because a refresher course is always nice, here’s what we know so far:

Aug. 6-11: Exhibition tour to Bahamas

Nov. 8 (6:30 p.m., ESPN2): vs. U-Conn. at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y.

Nov. 22-25: Paradise Jam in U.S. Virgin Islands vs. Marist, Northern Iowa/Loyola Marymount and Providence/Vanderbilt/Morgan State/La Salle.

Dec. 4: at Ohio State.

Dec. 8: vs. George Washington at Verizon Center (BB&T Classic).

Late December: vs. Tulsa.

TBD home nonconference games: Oregon State, Morgan State.

The Maryland athletics web site also has a Dec. 1 home game against IUPUI listed. The Terps hosted the Jaguars on New Years Day last season.
