The last conference matchup in a longstanding rivalry will kick off at 3:30 p.m. on Oct. 12, when the Maryland football team hosts the University of Virginia for the final time, at least in the forseeable future after the Terrapins move to the Big Ten.
The No. 25 Terps (4-0), who recently popped into the Associated Press top 25 for the first time since 2010, will open their ACC home schedule against the Cavaliers after this weekend’s conference opener at No. 8 Florida State. They spent last Saturday on their first bye week of the season.
The offensive-starved Cavs are 2-2 this season, fresh off a 14-3 loss at Pittsburgh. They host Ball State this weekend at noon.
Either ABC, ESPN2 or ESPNU will broadcast the game. Maryland holds a 43-32-2 series advantage and won in Charlottesville last season 27-20.
