Seth Allen’s tribute to former student manager Zach Lederer

GREENSBORO, N.C. — Forty-five minutes remain until the first game of Maryland’s final ACC tournament. The Terrapins are shooting around at Greensboro Coliseum, wearing their white “Heritage” uniforms. Most players opted for the accompanying white-fading-into-charcoal shoes. Point guard Seth Allen chose something different.

To honor former student manager Zach Lederer, who died Tuesday after a lengthy battle with brain cancer, Allen took a Sharpie and signed Lederer’s personal motto “#LivingTheDream” onto his left shoe, along with “RIP Z.L”

The three senior Maryland student managers — Evan Lipinski, Kevin Owens and Greg Harrison — are also wearing sneakers to honor Lederer’s fight with cancer.
