Alleged White House shooter believed he is ‘modern-day Jesus Christ’ (VIDEO)

Oscar Ramiro Ortega-Hernandez.
Two months before Oscar Ramiro Ortega-Hernandez allegedly fired shots on the White House, he asked an Idaho University student to videotape him as the second coming of Christ.

“It’s not just a coincidence that I look like Jesus. I am the modern-day Jesus Christ that you all have been waiting for,” Ortega-Hernandez says in the 20-minute video.

According to Fox 5 DC, the video was a segment pitch to Oprah Winfrey.

Ortega-Hernandez is accused of firing multiple shots with a semiautomatic rifle at the White House last Friday.

People who know him said Ortega-Hernandez had told them that he “needed to kill” President Obama, who he referred to as “the devil” and “the anti-Christ.”

“Our government is just a group of people no greater than us ... the only thing is that our government has had power for so long that it has led us to bully other countries,” Ortega-Hernandez says in the video.

Ortega-Hernandez was arrested Wednesday and has been charged with attempting to assassinate the president. If convicted, he faces life in prison.

A CBS News affiliate in Idaho reported that the student who shot the video, Ramon Bailey, found the contents so disturbing that he never edited the video and stopped returning Ortega-Hernandez’s calls. According to CBS, Bailey has been subpoenaed to testify in front of a grand jury in Washington on Nov. 22.
