Bryce Harper found himself at the center of a controversy Sunday, courtesy of Miami Marlins manager Ozzie Guillen. Guillen complained that Harper had too much pine tar on his bat. Then, as the Nationals rookie stepped to the plate in the fourth inning, Guillen accused Harper of mockingly pointing toward him. Federal Baseball managed to capture several good screenshots that help to visualize the dispute, including two of Harper’s bat, and later, one of the gesture that so angered Guillen.

“ ‘I could have said a lot of [expletive] about this kid,'" Guillen told the Miami Herald reporter. ‘I've been praising this kid like everyday. The last three times they asked me about him, the only thing I said was he's a great player. What he did [today] was unprofessional.’ ”
