Capital Pride festival celebrates gay, lesbian culture in D.C.

Annual Capital Pride parade, 2008. (Richard A. Lipski - The Washington Post)
The Capital Pride festival’s Jell-o wrestling competition may be behind us, but a docket of events including a picnic-and-movie night at the Hillwood Estate, a rainbow-themed after-hours party at the Newseum and a performance by DJ Chris Cox proves that the best of the fest celebrating gay and lesbian culture is yet to come.

Going Out Guide’s Fritz Hahn has rounded up the not-to-be-missed events, which culminate in the annual “loud-and-proud parade through the Dupont and Logan Circle neighborhoods and the street party in the shadow of the Capitol.”

Check out Hahn’s full list of Capital Pride events, and tell us: Which event are you most looking forward to? Share your party plans in the comments below.
