D.C. coffee shop over-orders, gives away milk

The leche-loving people behind Pound coffee shop in Eastern Market accidentally ordered 48 cases of milk instead of the intended amount of 48 gallons. That effectively sent the establishment into a ”milk crisis” with a total of 192 gallons.

But, as the saying goes, there’s no use crying over too much milk. Or something like that.

Food banks are already arriving to take the extra milk off their hands — DC Central Kitchen made off with 100 gallons — but the establishment also offered a free gallon of milk for every latte purchase. If you’re low on dairy, tweet Pound to see if there’s any left.
