Eleanor Holmes Norton, the District’s delegate to Congress, was so exercised by the compomise that she loosed an angry response in the middle of a local TV interview.
“This is the functional equivalent of bombing innocent civilians,” she said, adding two minutes later “It’s time the District of Columbia told Congress to go straight to hell,” she told Fox 5 News late last week.
