WTOP confirmed Thursday that local radio personality Mark Plotkin has “parted ways” with the station. Here’s a brief guide to the longtime political commentator.
— Plotkin was formerly the host of WTOP’s “The Politics Program,” broadcast Friday mornings. According to a staff e-mail at WTOP, the weekly show has been canceled.
— Plotkin was outspoken in his support of D.C. voting rights. He dissected Mayor Vincent Gray’s remarks about the District’s treatment by the federal government at the Martin Luther King Jr. memorial dedication.
— Plotkin alluded to “corporate pressure” at WTOP in November, when he joined Twitter.
