Each week, Cultural Tourism DC asks well-known Washingtonians to list their favorite attractions or events.
This week’s list comes from Andy Shallal, founder of Busboys and Poets, a restaurant, bookstore and fair trade market. Here’s a sample of some of his picks:
“1) Meridian Hill Park (Malcolm X Park) — Love to hang out there and take a walk — great drumming on Sunday afternoons
2) Frederick Douglass Home in Historic Anacostia — Gorgeous views of the city and very serene — great rocking chairs on the porch. Take a book and hang out on a Saturday.”
