Sports fans in the District could be in luck if city officials pass a bill that would allow them to show their team spirit on their license plates.
The Washington Times reports that the bill would allow Washingtonians to get specialty plates displaying the logo of one of nine home teams, from the Redskins to the Divas.
The plates would also still display the District’s “Taxation Without Representation” tagline.
If the proposal is approved by the council, residents can choose from the following teams: Redskins (football), Nationals (baseball), Capitals (hockey), Wizards (basketball), D.C. United (soccer), Mystics (women’s basketball), Kastles (tennis), Bayhawks (lacrosse) or Divas (women’s football).
There’s an option for every fan, but, the Times acknowledges, “demand for the specialty tags is unclear.”
