Expanding alerts: Metro is offering a new email and text alert system for Metrobus service disruptions, much like the system already in place for Metrorail.

Md. county official caught speeding: A Prince George’s County Council member was driving at more than 100 mph on the Capital Beltway when she was ticketed for an unsafe lane change last week, law enforcement officials said.

Cat campaign: Former Virginia governor George Allen has responded to the entrance of a feline candidate for this year’s U.S. Senate race with the introduction of his own whiskered friend.
