Though the director of the Maryland Lottery says no one in the state has claimed a Mega Millions winning ticket , coworkers of McDonald’s employee Mirlande Wilson are asking her to pay up her share of the $640 million prize.
The New York Post reported Monday that Wilson’s coworkers are saying she purchased a winning ticket with pooled money.
“I don’t know if I won. Some of the numbers were familiar,” Wilson told the publication. “I bought some tickets separately.”
Her story could join the ranks of these rather unlucky winners.
Lottery officials say a winning ticket was sold at a 7-Eleven store in Milford Mill. The New York Post said Wilson planned to contact lottery officials on Monday.
Update: Wilson was a no-show at the Maryland Lottery offices Monday afternoon. Her boss at McDonald’s said that the whole story is unconfirmed, according to WUSA (Channel 9).
