Remy Munasifi, the comedic rapper who gave the Internet the viral hits 'Metro Song' and ‘Raise the Debt Ceiling’ is back to poke a little musical fun at the ‘Occupy DC’ and ‘Occupy Wall Street’ protests.
Munasifi’s latest is a folksy dispatch from the scene of last week’s protests, released in partnership with the libertarian organization ReasonTV. A lyrics sampling:
“They’re saying that freedom
has done little to stop
Corporations from keeping
the wealth at the top
But at what point in history
would a kid and a king
both have clean water to drink?”
The Clarendon-based musician may have no trouble striking YouTube gold again with this one — “Raise the Debt Ceiling,” released in July, had over 360,000 views.
