Offbeat V-Day ideas: Valentines for Veterans

(Bill O'Leary/The Washington Post)
An offbeat Valentine’s Day idea comes from our Buzz drop box: Tynan Coffee & Tea will be hosting a “Valentines for Veterans” at all of its locations.

Complimentary valentines will be distributed at each Tynan location until Feb. 9; after that, valentines will be delivered to both Walter Reed National Medical Center and the Armed Forces Retirement Home, according to the company’s blog. A list of locations — Columbia Heights, Friendship Heights, Capitol Hill North — is here.

Thanks to Girl Meets Food for the tip. Other ideas from GMF are here, in a post titled “A Valentine’s That Won’t Make You Barf.” If you have any related ideas, post them in the comments below.
