Redskins cheerleaders tryouts open to public

Ever wonder what it takes to become a Washington Redskins cheerleader? Now’s your chance to find out, as the franchise opens the final leg of tryouts to the public this Sunday.

"It’s a chance for fans to get a behind-the-scenes look at what a professional audition is like and to also root for their favorite cheerleader," said Stephanie Jojokian, choreographer to the “First Ladies of Football,” in a press release.

The cheerleaders will be judged on their “appearance, performance in dance routines, ability to entertain and photogenic ability.” (The audition announcement doesn’t specify whether good looks count more than dancing skills, but surely they can’t hurt.)

The final auditions show will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, at the State Theatre, 220 N. Washington St., Falls Church.
