The 9/11 Tribute Ride: Post your photos

Chances are, if you need to drive on a major highway this Friday in Northern Virginia, you are going to find the road closed — due to a procession of motorcyclists – anticipated at 12 to 15 miles long – riding in tribute of those killed on September 11, 2001.

Police are expected to escort 1,800 motorcycles along major highways – the Dulles Greenway, the Dulles Toll Road, Interstate 66 and Route 110 South – but resulting backups could lead to a whole lot of gridlock on nearby smaller roads. The riders also will pass through some parts of western Maryland as they make their way to all three plane crash sites.

If you shoot photos of the bikers (or the traffic), you can share them with other Post readers by e-mailing to userpics@washpost.com or uploading them to our user gallery. You can also share your thoughts on Twitter using the hash tag #911TributeRide.
