Tommy K. Wong, slain Columbia Pike jeweler, remembered with candlelight vigil (#DMVReads)

Friends and family lit candles in a vigil remembering Tommy K. Wong.
A candlelight vigil was held Wednesday night in Arlington in memory of Tommy K. Wong, the Herndon resident who was slain during an armed robbery of his Capital Jewelers store on Columbia Pike last Friday. While the search for Wong’s killer continues, ARLnow reports that close to 200 people, including friends, family and co-workers and residents, gathered in front of Capital Jewlers to honor and remember Wong.

“‘We are here to celebrate Tommy’s life,”’ said Lindsey Nguonly, owner of Princess Jewelers in Rockville, Md. Nguonly said Wong, a Hong Kong native, worked at his store for 15 years after he helped sponsor his emigration to the United States.”
