U.S. House to assess Occupy D.C.’s health; Bethesda Metro entrance funds deferred; six shot in D.C. (A.M. Buzz)

(Bill O'Leary - WASHINGTON POST)
Assessing Occupy D.C.’s health risks: A House committee will hold a hearing Tuesday to look into public health and safety issues at Occupy D.C.’s McPherson Square encampment.

A violent night: Six people were shot late Tuesday around the District. Police also shot a dog after it attacked a man in a wheelchair near the old Walter Reed Army Medical Center.

Dead in its tracks: Montgomery County is deferring funds for a second entrance to its Bethesda station, which would provide better Purple Line access and an alternative to the station’s aging escalators.

Polar opposites: Despite vivid memories of the Snowmageddon of 2010, this year’s unseasonably warm winter will continue to underwhelm, the National Weather Service predicts.
