Washingtology: 5 favorite D.C. spots

Okay, this weekend might be a washout if Hurricane Irene makes her presence known. (Check the Capital Weather Gang for the latest forecast.) But when the clouds break, you’ll be looking for something to do. Check out the latest “five favorites” blog from Cultural Tourism DC, now live on our Washingtology page, for ideas.

Each week, Cultural Tourism DC asks Washington insiders about their favorite events or destinations. This week, Ulrich Braess, director of the Goethe-Institut Washington, shares his list.

(Bill O'Leary - The Washington Post)
Rock Creek Park earns a spot for its “miles of peaceful trails through a lush paradise.” Unlike New York’s Central Park or Munich’s English Garden, most of Rock Creek Park is unspoiled nature, he says.

Go to our Washingtology page to see the rest of his list, and the favorite spots of other Washington insiders.

Have five favorite places of your own? Share them in the comments section below.
