We’re rude, obsessed with cupcakes, and now: preppy?

The D.C. area has been called a lot of things: rude, hipster and maybe even cupcake-obsessed. Here’s another to add to the list: preppy.

Georgetown University is the nation’s preppiest college, and the University of Virginia ranks second, according to The Huffington Post:

“What did it take to make the cut? A love of Brooks Brothers, a passion for lacrosse, a hatred of regular shoes.”

(HuffPo did not define the term “regular shoes,” or cite statistical data to back their rankings.)

Last year’s preppiest college was Hampden-Sydney College in southern Virginia, with Georgetown coming in at sixth.

What do you think? Do Georgetown and the University of Virginia deserve to be called preppiest in the nation? Leave a comment below.
