Where to celebrate Cinco de Mayo

Masa 14’s $5-margarita special isjust one of the Cinco de Mayo deals on tap in the Washington area Thursday. (Evy Mages - EVY MAGES)
Today’s temperature drop doesn’t exactly inspire a night out on the town. Thankfully, Going Out Guide’s Fritz Hahn reminds us of a reason to celebrate: Cinco de Mayo!

Hahn rounds up the area’s best margarita deals, mariachi bands, Latin jazz, Mexican cuisine, and — of course — a chance to get your picture taken with a donkey wearing a sombrero.

Here’s a sampling of Hahn’s guide:

Ceiba is already celebrating, having started its Cinco de Mayo festivities Tuesday afternoon. Deals on food and drinks are available from 3 p.m. today and from 2:30 p.m. Thursday.

LatinVIP.com will hold a networking event at Eden, complete with mariachi band, free food from 5 to 7 p.m. and discounted drinks.

Town Tavern will offer all-day food and drink deals as well as photo ops with a donkey in a sombrero. Just one rule: Look, but don’t touch.
