Assassination attempt: The suspect in the White House shooting, Oscar Ramiro Ortega-Hernandez, has been charged with trying to kill President Obama, who he called “the devil.”

Thanksgiving travel: One million people in he Washington area are expected to travel Thanksgiving weekend, according to an annual survey by the AAA.

Shutdown averted: Congress passed a budget bill that provided a detailed vision of the federal government on a diet. This is what a smaller government will look like.
