Fix prediction contest: NV-02 and NY-09 special elections!

By ,

Voters are voting in Nevada and New York today, and that means it’s time for another Fix prediction contest! Get psyched!

You know the drill. But, in the off chance you don’t here are the basics: submit your predictions for order of finish — with percentages! — in both New York’s 9th and Nevada’s 2nd districts.

The commenter who gets closest to the actual results in both elections combined wins an official Fix t-shirt and the endless envy of your fellow Fixistas.

Comments must be left by 9 pm ET to qualify. Limit your responses to one decimal place, please. Complicated fractions will do neither you nor us any good.

Some background for those who haven’t been following the races that closely:

* In New York, Republican businessman Bob Turner faces Democratic Assemblyman David Weprin for the 9th district seat vacated by ex-Rep. Anthony Weiner (D). The seat was considered safe for Democrats, but a weak candidate and unhappiness with President Obama over the economy and Israel policy have turned this seat into a potential Republican pick-up.

* In Nevada, Democrats were initially optimistic about taking over the 2nd district seat left empty when now-Sen. Dean Heller (R) was appointed to replace ex-Sen. John Ensign (R). They found a strong candidate in state Treasurer Kate Marshall, who faces former Republican state Sen. Mark Amodei. But Marshall has failed to get much traction in the GOP-leaning district.

Now get to it! We’ll announce the winner later this week.
