Romney super PAC raised record $20 million in June
The top super PAC supporting Mitt Romney set a new standard for fundraising by a super PAC in June, collecting $20 million, a PAC aide told The Fix.
Restore Our Future’s unprecedented total is four times what the super PAC raised in May and more than three times what the top super PAC supporting President Obama raised in the same month. (That super PAC, Priorities USA Action, also set a personal best in June with $6 million raised.)

Much of the haul appears to have come from casino magnate and former Newt Gingrich super PAC benefactor Sheldon Adelson, who reports indicate is giving $10 million to Restore Our Future. The super PAC declined to say how much of that amount was included in the June report, though.
The pro-Romney super PAC’s advantage in June came as its candidate’s campaign was also outraising Obama by a significant margin, $106 million to $71 million. It has become apparent that Romney and his allies could well outspend the incumbent president over the next three and a half months in the runup to Election Day.
“This record-breaking fundraising effort is a tribute to the hard work of the entrepreneurs, small businesspeople, investors, and concerned citizens who believe America can do better than the Obama economy of the past years,” said the super PAC’s treasurer, Charlie Spies. “The Obama campaign, with no economic record to run on, is now resorting to lies and distortions. Restore Our Future has Mitt Romney’s back and will keep raising the resources to fight back against the Obama attack machine until victory on Nov. 7.”
Restore Our Future’s June haul is more than twice the amount it has raised in any previous month. It has now raised more than $80 million for Romney.
Priorities USA Action co-founder Bill Burton told Bloomberg this week in an interview airing over the weekend that his super PAC raised $6 million in June.
