Weeding out process begins for the veepstakes (VIDEO)
New Mexico Gov. Susana Martinez is looking like a very unlikely vice-presidential pick for Mitt Romney.
Martinez, who has already said she wouldn’t leave the state because of a developmentally disabled sister, has now also come out against Romney’s illegal immigration policy, saying: “Self-deportation? What the heck does that mean?”
But she’s not the only one separating herself from the veepstakes.
Also this week:
* Tim Pawlenty said he’s not interested in being a part of the process after failing to land the V.P. slot four years ago.
* Nevada Gov. Brian Sandoval is having trouble with his state party, which has been taken over by Ron Paul supporters.
* And New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie may well be interested in the V.P. slot, but voters in his state say they don’t see him comfortable as a No. 2.
