What’s coming on Election Day

In case you have been living somewhere other than Planet Earth of late, the 2012 presidential election is Tuesday.

The Washington Post is firing on all fronts in the runup to the big day. Here's a quick preview of what we have in store across the site on mobile, tablets, and desktop starting Nov. 6:

  • Fast and accurate results: A team of seasoned journalists and data experts on the Post's Decision Desk will be calling races throughout the night, providing up-to-the-minute election results for president, House, Senate and governor in all 50 states.
  • Map view: See for yourself how the electoral college adding up with our interactive map. Check in starting around 6 p.m. ET. We'll be updating as information rolls in. 
  • Ongoing analyses and commentary: Join Washington Post journalists including Dan Balz, Chris Cillizza, Nia-Malika Henderson, Karen Tumulty, Philip Rucker, Amy Gardner, David Nakamura, Jonathan Capehart, Eugene Robinson, Ruth Marcus and Dana Milbank. We will be reporting live from Ohio, Florida, Nevada, Colorado, Wisconsin, North Carolina, Massachusetts, Missouri, Virginia and Maryland.
  • The Grid: Take a spin through the best of social media to get a sense of what people are talking about on Election Day. Follow the conversation with us on TwitterFacebook, and Instagram
  • Election 2012: The blog anchored by former deputy Fix Rachel Weiner been the home of our election coverage day-in and day-out for months now. Our team of reporters stationed across the country will file their updates early and often. Get the very latest live news starting bright and early on November 6.
  • Instant Fix: Election night can be a confusing mess of exit poll data and TV pundits. Keep on top of what's actually important and what it all means with The Fix team. They'll promise to keep it to bite-sized chunks and you'll be able to get on with your evening while staying in-the-know.
  • Mobile election results: Our mobile website will use your location to give you election results where you are. Of course, you'll also be able to find maps, The Grid, live blog, and more right from your mobile phone.
  • Twitter: Our team will be tweeting out results (@postpolitics @washingtonpost) and commentary throughout election day and night. Follow individuals here.
  • Alerts: Sign up for the Politics alerts and receive email updates throughout the night on the most important races and most significant moments in the presidential vote.

  • #AskWaPo: Our reporters will answer your election-night questions on our live show throughout the night. Submit them on Twitter using #AskWaPo.
  • The Fix Cam: We're pointing a live camera on The Fix pod that will capture sights and interactions between Chris Cillizza and his Fix team as they report on exit polls, statewide results, the latest electoral votes and more, in partnership with Ustream
  • Exit poll data: Catch an early glimpse of who's winning with exit poll data from around the country. 
  • 'I Voted': Share who you voted for, why, and what issues are most important to you.
