WHAT YOU MIGHT HAVE MISSED:

Senate Passes CR: The Senate passed a stop-gap government funding measure. If the House grants the measure final passage and the president signs the bill, a government shutdown will be averted.

Obama's First Israel Trip: President Obama began his first visit as president to Israel, where he said at a joint news conference with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that he observed upon flying in “how Israel’s security can be measured in mere miles and minutes," and declared: “America’s commitment to the security of the state of Israel is a solemn obligation.”

Thanks, But I Already Have A Job: House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) said in an interview with CNN's Jake Tapper that he has no interest in being president. "I don't want to be president. This is not anything I've ever thought about," he said.

Grooms Says Campaign Is Over: South Carolina state Sen. Larry Grooms said his bid for the second spot in the 1st district House GOP runoff against former governor Mark Sanford has "ended," even as his campaign says it’s not a concession. Grooms finished about 500 votes behind former Charleston county councilor Curtis Bostic, who appears poised to take on Sanford, so long as an automatic recount doesn't erase his margin.

Double Time: The DSCC outraised the NRSC nearly 2-1 in February, collecting $4.3 million to Republicans’ $2.17 million. The DSCC has more cash on hand ($5.1 million) than the NRSC ($3.1 million). The NRSC ended the month with $9.5 million in debt, while the DSCC did not disclose its debt level. It ended January with about $15.7 million in debt.

Barrow For Senate? In an e-mail to supporters, conservative Democratic Rep. John Barrow said he is giving "serious consideration" to running for retiring Republican Sen. Saxby Chambliss's seat. Barrow would be a top get for Senate Democrats, who don't have much of a bench in the red state beyond him.

Durbin Says Madigan Could Clear Field: Senate Majority Whip Dick Durbin (D-Ill.) said that if Illinois Attorney General Lisa Madigan (D) were to challenge Gov. Pat Quinn (D) next year, she'd likely be his only challenger. “I don’t think Bill Daley will get in the race. But I leave that up to him," Durbin said about the former White House chief of staff, who is viewed as another possible challenger against the unpopular incumbent.

Hickenlooper Signs Sweeping Gun Measures: Colorado Gov. John Hickenlooper (D) signed sweeping new gun control measures  that will require background checks for private gun sales and ban high-capacity ammunition magazines. Hickenlooper's signature came exactly eight months after a mass shooting at a Colorado movie theater and less than a day after the head of the state’s department of corrections was shot dead.

Not-so-great Scott? Republican-turned-Democratic former governor Charlie Crist leads Florida Gov. Rick Scott (R) 50 percent to 34 percent in a new Quinnipiac University survey. Crist hasn't committed to running against Scott just yet.

Hoosier State Of Mind: Obama's NCAA Tournament picks are out. He's picking Indiana to win it all.

A Rare Occurrence: Worth bearing in mind amid the buzz surrounding a potential Rep. Tom Cotton (R-Ark) Senate bid: Just two House freshman have won Senate bids in the last 40 years, according to a University of Minnesota Smart Politics study.

By The Book: Sen. Claire McCaskill (D-Mo.) is writing a book about her 2012 Senate campaign against Republican Todd Akin.

THE FIX MIX:

"I don't hate him because he left, I hate him because of how he left. ... I hate him because he left."
