We started with 32 candidates in our Sweet 2016 bracket competition. Now only four remain.
Much like the NCAA tournament Elite Eight games, the four games that determined our Final Four weren’t all that competitive. Number one overall seed Hillary Clinton continued her dominance, taking 93 percent of the vote over Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley. (She is the Louisville of our tournament.) The closest of the four matchups was Florida Sen. Marco Rubio’s 55 percent to 45 percent victory over former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush.
(One thing our Elite Eight didn’t have in common with the NCAA’s: gruesome leg injuries. Thank God.)
In terms of our Final Four matchups, the seeding committee did its job — the #1 and #2 seeds are facing off in the Democratic and Republican brackets. For Democrats, that’s Clinton vs Vice President Joe Biden. For Republicans, it’s Rubio vs New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie.
Vote below. We’ll keep voting open until 5 pm Wednesday and then announce the final matchup Thursday morning!
