Obama's budget blueprint cuts entitlements in exchange for tax hikes: President Obama's budget blueprint will include significant cuts to Medicare and Social Security and fewer tax increases than the past. Liberals aren't happy, and neither is House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio).
Sorry about that... Obama called California Attorney General Kamala Harris (D) Thursday to apologize for calling her the “best-looking attorney general in the country," White House Press Secretary Jay Carney told reporters.
Two more Democrats and a Republican back gay marriage: Democratic Sens. Heidi Heitkamp of North Dakota and Joe Donnelly of Indiana announced their support for gay marriage. Former Maine Republican senator Olympia Snowe did, too.
Clinton's timeline: James Carville, a longtime ally of the Clintons, says former secretary of state Hillary Rodham Clinton isn't likely to make a decision about whether to run for president until after the 2014 midterm elections. "She's going to wait, I'm sure, until after the midterms," Carville told MSNBC. Carville is supporting a super PAC that is trying to spur Clinton to run in 2016.
School official slams Carson remarks: The dean of the medical faculty at John Hopkins University called remarks Ben Carson made about gay marriage "offensive" in a statement released Friday. Carson apologized for the remarks, which compared gay marriage to bestiality and pedophilia. Carson, the director of pediatric neurosurgery at John Hopkins, has emerged as a conservative darling.
