August 14, 2013

Civil rights icon Rep. John Lewis (D-Ga.) sat down with Comedy Central's Stephen Colbert on Tuesday to talk about the 1963 March on Washington, which he called an "unbelievable day."

"America is a better America because of the March on Washington," Lewis said. "And we are a better people."

The 50th anniversary of the March on Washington, where Lewis spoke and Martin Luther King Jr. gave his "I Have a Dream" speech, will be observed later this month.

Lewis also talked about his graphic novel ... and even discussed his superpower.
