What would a map of the United States look like if it was connected only by Starbucks locations?
As an obsessive map consumer and someone known by his first name at the local Starbucks, the combination of the two is irresistible. The awesome map below was built by Jim Davenport. (Make sure to read his corresponding blog post explaining how he did it.)
While it's not terribly surprising that Starbucks tend to be clumped in major cities along the two coasts of the country, this fact unearthed by Davenport stunned us: More than 80 percent of the U.S. population -- roughly 250 million people -- live within 20 miles of a Starbucks.
