Hillary Clinton on Fox News: ‘If I were president…’ [VIDEO]

Former secretary of state Hillary Rodham Clinton is on a media blitz to promote her new memoir -- but Tuesday’s network interviews took a whole new twist, after The Washington Post broke news that U.S. Special Operation forces captured Ahmed Abu Khattala, one of the suspected leaders in the terrorist attack in Benghazi, Libya.

Instead of covering health scares and Bowe Bergdahl, Tuesday’s interviews were all Benghazi reminiscing, administration talking points and hypothetical posturing if a certain “Madame President” would try Abu Khattala in U.S. courts.

Here’s a bit of Clinton’s live town hall interview with CNN’s Christiane Amanpour, with color commentary and analysis from The Post’s diplomatic correspondent Anne Gearan:

Clinton went live to camera again a few hours later, this time with Fox News’s Bret Baier and Greta Van Susteren. Here’s Post national political correspondent Philip Rucker reading between Clinton’s lines:

If the former secretary of state were in the White House, would she give the order to try Benghazi terror suspect Ahmed Abu Khattala in a U.S. court? National political correspondent Philip Rucker adds his commentary to Clinton's interview with Fox News' Bret Baier and Greta Van Susteren. (Julie Percha/The Washington Post)
