Umbrellas and political photo ops: A fun and dangerous combo

Above is a photo of Hillary Clinton, clutching a copy of her new book while meeting Tuesday in Paris with French President Francois Hollande.

Apparently nobody told her about the political perils of standing underneath an umbrella at a photo op. Last year, President Obama asked Marines standing by at a news conference to hold an umbrella over him and Turkish Prime Minister Recep Erdogan.

What Obama perhaps didn't know is that Marines are not supposed to hold umbrellas while in uniform.

It was such a scandal that the normally understated New York Post offered this cover:

Luckily for Clinton, this doesn't appear to have developed into an international incident ... yet.
