Stephen Colbert remembers Watergate-gate, wears copious amounts of hair gel

This week marks the 40th anniversary of President Richard M. Nixon resigning after the Watergate scandal. Stephen Colbert chose to remember the day by dressing up like this.

In fact, he shot an entire episode of The Colbert Report like the '70s newscaster he's likely always wanted to be.

They even talk about pandas, so you know it's good.

He also interviewed former Nixon speechwriter Pat Buchanan.

Buchanan said that Nixon should have destroyed the tapes that helped to bring him down. Former White House counsel for Nixon John W. Dean was on, too.

He didn't think the tapes should have been destroyed.
