Gingrich is going to acknowledge the obvious

April 25, 2012

It looks like Newt Gingrich is going to acknowledge the obvious by getting out of the campaign. That would be unremarkable except for the fact that Gingrich can’t always be counted on to acknowledge the obvious.

Newt plays an important role in the Republican Party.  He is a fountain of ideas. He challenges Republican leadership to think bigger and to be creative. I hope his zest and enthusiasm for policy solutions isn’t diminished by his unsuccessful campaign. Newt has a role to play and a lot of people will listen, as long as they’re not asked to vote for him.
