Among the more ridiculous, inane exercises one has to endure at political gatherings is the endless speculation about who would fill key positions in a new Administration. Amateur pols can't help it when they are together. No serious person would waste time on such pablum and no properly superstitious person would jinx the election by talking about it.
Anyway, that said, here is what I am offering today during hallway chats, elevator whispers and sloshing cocktail rants.
Chief of Staff: Haley Barbour
Secretary of the Treasury: Mitch Daniels
Counselor to the President and Press Secretary (I say that job needs an upgrade): Brit Hume
Ambassador to the United Nations: Liz Cheney
CIA Director: Leon Panetta (Mitt Romney has to have a Democrat and he is a good one)
Secretary of Commerce: Carly Fiorina
