Santorum answers the question — he's waging a gratuitous fight

Unfortunately, Carter is right. Santorum is not doing Romney any good and is not helping himself, either. I said a week ago that “Santorum has to determine how the end will come for his 2012 campaign. What is the impression he wants to leave with the Republican Party and the public who have gotten to know him? Is he an angry spoiler who will wage a gratuitous fight, or does he want to try and be a graceful, useful resource for the GOP in 2012?” This ad answers the question.

The only person being served by the Santorum campaign is Obama.  Santorum’s not winning, Romney isn’t losing, and we are witnessing Santorum’s meltdown. Nothing credible can be said that suggests Santorum is making a contribution to anything Republicans care about. So I won’t say anything else. At least until tomorrow.
