Trial starts in Fairfax #beltwaysex case

A lawsuit about a crash on the Beltway last year — in which the defendant allegedly was driving at 85 miles per hour while drunk and having sex with a woman “partially or totally in the backseat of the car” — went to trial today.

State of NoVa’s Tom Jackman is on the scene at Fairfax County Circuit Court. Follow the proceedings on Twitter with #beltwaysex.

UPDATE: The defendant Salem Trad is also tweeting, though not during the trial proceedings. He has a proclivity for profanity, right down to his Twitter handle, so we can’t link to it, but he did write during the lunch break, “I’m so angry that its causing me a really bad headache.”

UPDATE 2: I’ll be on Elliot in the Morning on DC101 around 7:40 a.m. Tuesday to discuss this further.
