The BET awards nominees were announced Tuesday, with Kanye West leading the pack with seven nominations, including two ‘Video of the Year’ nominations for ‘N--- in Paris’ and ‘Otis.’

Beyoncé came in a close second with six nominations, including ‘Best Female R&B Artist’ alongside Mary J. Blige and Rihanna. Her husband Jay-Z also earned five nominations.
Other artists up for awards are Drake, Lil Wayne, J. Cole, Big Sean, A$AP Rocky, Rick Ross and Young Jeezy for categories from ‘Best Male R&B Artist’ to ‘Best New Artist.’
Nicki Minaj and Chris Brown are slated to perform on the star-studded night. Veteran actor Samuel L. Jackson will host the awards show, which will air on July 1st from Los Angeles.
Maze featuring Frankie Beverly will also be honored with a lifetime achievement award.
