BrotherSpeak: Dream- The conversation continues

The BrotherSpeak conversation isn’t over yet.

Below, find excepts from a fascinating Twitter chat that RootDC columnist Rahiel Tesfamariam hosted on January 29th around our third BrotherSpeak video, this one entitled “Dream.”

As you may know, BrotherSpeak is a three-part video series that gave voice to a range of black men about what matters most to them. For the series, we asked 18 black men to discuss three words: Fear, love and dream. Each video focuses on one word.

The Dream episode, initially released on January 22nd, featured Van Jones, the former White House official and environmental activist; literary activist and poet E. Ethelbert Miller; singer and songwriter Raheem DeVaughn; Joshua DuBois, head of the White House’s Office of Faith Based and Neighborhood Partnerships; Stacey Smith, a social worker from Anacostia; and Salasie Kellon, a Bowie State student.

For the Twitter chat we invited a series of black men — from activists to advocates to artists — to talk about what their Dreams as black men. Check out a bit of the conversation through this Storify compilation.
