The summer season is symbolic of many forms of fellowship: Barbecues, fireworks, family vacations and road trips are great occasions to gather everyone together and turn up the music.

Whether it’s the flow of “Hot Fun in the Summertime” easing out of your headphones or “Golden Time of Day” spinning on vinyl, that special song has the power to take you out of the office and into your comfort zone.

With the arrival of summertime soul greats Patti LaBelle, The O’Jays, Maze featuring Frankie Beverly and more in D.C. on July 29 for the Summer Music Festival at Verizon Center, we want to know: What’s on your summer playlist?

We’re getting you started with a few of our favorite selections below.

Add your picks in the comments section and we’ll add them to our playlist.
