After unfavorable racist and homophobic newsletters from presidential candidate Ron Paul’s (R-Texas) past have resurfaced, Revolution PAC released a two-minute ad defending against such comments.
The ad focuses on James Williams, a black man from Matagorda County, Texas who recalls the prejudice he encountered when his wife, who is white, was in the hospital for a pregnancy that led to a stillbirth (delivered by Paul) in the 1970s.
“Paul came to my rescue,” Williams said, noting that Paul took care of his wife’s hospital bills in its entirety. “Paul is an honest man.”
