Either you love Tyler Perry’s slapstick brand of black comedies or you find his movies low-brow and clownish. Regardless of your opinion, there’s no doubting his success. So when he posted a video on his Facebook fan page ‘How to be successful,’ people tuned in.

The video is simple - about four minutes long of Perry speaking to the camera. Right off the bat, he attributed God as the “only answer” for his success. He said he has attributed his his success to “the grace of God,” but its typically cut out of interviews.

Perry said he “really hard” and urged those seeking out their dreams that they “cannot stop believing” and to focus all of “your energy into watering one area.” When he started, Perry said he only had one idea to do a play and his career snowballed from there.

“When something is for you, there’s a feeling that is deep down inside of you that will not allow it to let it go,” he said.

He posted the video Monday night and as of Tuesday morning about 11,000 people liked it and it was shared roughly 12,000 times.
