The much-awaited trailer for ‘Sparkle,’ Whitney Houston’s last film aired on NBC’s ‘Today Show’ Monday morning.
Houston was an executive producer for the movie. She was poised to make her Hollywood comeback since her starring role in the wildly popular ‘The Bodyguard.’ Singer-actress Jordin Sparks also stars in the movie.
The Grammy-award winning singer died on Feb. 11. A coroner ruled that she drowned in her hotel bathtub and that cocaine and heart disease were contributing factors. The movie is a remake of a 1976 movie about a girl music group dealing with fame and drug addiction.
‘Sparkle’ is scheduled for release Aug. 17.
